Just before spring break Fleur witnesses a mine exploding in a French town, at the foot of Mont Blanc, where she and her friends live.

Fleur comes across a paper that has the composition and time of the mine’s detonation written upon it. This convinces Fleur into believing that the mine didn’t originate from the Second World War, but that it was deliberately planted in the forest.

When the police makes it abundantly clear that they don’t buy Fleur’s theory, she and her friends decide to unravel the formulas themselves and thus discover a crack in Mont Blanc, which serves as a passageway to Haruba. Haruba is a mythological realm that according to old legends used to be part of the Earth, but inexplicably separated itself from the Earth many years before Christ, after the two ruling kings had had a dispute.

After arriving in Haruba, the friends find a world seemingly untouched by time. While the Earth has known many wars, Haruba has remained a peaceful unity, governed by only one royal house.

Haruba’s peace however, is about to be rudely disrupted when it is threatened by an enemy from the Earth. Desmarais is not only after Haruba’s valuable natural minerals, but he also seeks to gain power over the kingdom and is willing and ready to forcefully suppress the peaceful Harubians. Therefore, Fleur and her friends decide to assist the Harubians, no matter how dangerous this quest will be.
